When we moved into our house I really did not like the gas fireplace. The brass was a bit too brassy for me. I checked for solutions and finding none, except buying a whole new stove, I put the eyesore out of mind. Well, as time marches on I have started to accessorize with copper and now the copper and brass are starting to come together. As a matter of fact the copper/brass weathervane is one I bought from the Spiegel catalog years ago, probably 47 years ago. Spiegel was involved in a class action suite and all of us credit card holders were given a voucher to spend in the catalog. I picked out the weathervane, one of my favorite treasures. Fast forward to now, Bruce put these old shell casings by the stove so I added the teapot and mug. I think it works, especially when the fire is warming the room.
