Baylor and Elle stayed behind when Kim traveled back home. Kim was joining Colby on a work trip to Mishawaka, Indiana. The wind had picked up so the kids showed their Mom they could fly too!
Wind and rose petals. If you haven't been to Ellensburg you probably don't understand wind, sometimes it's just plain awesome!!
Smorgasbord of cereal - Poppi hooked them up.
Of course, they wanted Poppi's Sugar Smacks in the giant glass jar!
After breakfast Baylor was ready for a haircut. After the cut he carried the vacuum bag outside to throw into the mole hill he spotted.
Follow the leader. It is starting to get colder - we had a giant east wind that lasted for 36 hours and the temperature dropped below freezing. The east wind blew stuff off our patio that has been sitting for years. Instead of all our stuff headed to Vantage it headed to Seattle.
We got started working on our craft projects. First project was salt dough. Bubbs made a snowman.
Elle made several ornaments, a swan and a snow-lady.
We put them on a tray and baked them in the oven. Bad recipe for salt dough! Instead of drying they puffed up and baked like a cookie. Next time we'll use a different recipe, the kids loved working with the dough.
While the dough was baking the kids decided to look into Pandora's Box aka Kim's Memory Box. For some reason Kim still has her box of treasures sitting in our living room. I'm sure she was a little freaked out when she saw this picture of the kids digging in.......
The second round of crafts involved clay flower pots and saucers and hot glue.
The kids painted the flower pots white, the clay saucers black. Added a nose we made out of salt dough and some buttons for eyes.
The candles were from the dollar store and we added some ribbon from the scrap box.
I think they turned out wonderful and the kids were super proud of them.
One of Baylor's favorite things is to ride on the tractor with Poppi. Doesn't matter that the temperature is 12 degrees and the wind is howling.
Phew, got the garbage to the end of the road! A Man's Got to Do What a Man's Got to Do!!
Bruce headed over to Marc's on Thursday for late White Tail Deer Hunt. Elle and Baylor entertained themselves with the toy cars. I heard them calling me and saying "Look Grami, We made a traffic jam!"

Elle found an old pair of my glasses and tried them on - Funny Girl!
I recently rearranged the playroom moving all our old games from the top of the closet into the bookshelf. Baylor discovered the Perfection game and had a ball playing it.
Second round of salt dough - still didn't turn out... This picture is just showing you how funny the Bubbs is - he said his head was cold so he got one of Poppi's hats and filled it with socks. This kid cracks me up!
He will also try anything - first he wanted lemon concentrate and second it was the evaporated milk! Baylor reminded me of Marc when he was this age. Wanting to be independent and so interested in everything.
It has been so cold here my feet won't warm up so I pulled out my heating pad and Baylor and Elle fell in love! Baylor kept teasing me he was going to take my heating pad home with him. This morning we headed up to the sewing room and the kids picked out some scraps of fabric to make their own heating pads. Elle helped pour the rice into the bags before we stitched them closed.
Warmed for just one minute the little bags are perfect for warming you up! They pretended to sleep while I took this picture.
