Mother's Day 2020

The Roemer girls stopped by with a very sweet Happy Mother's Day early in the morning.  Gia actually made the gift bag. 

After breakfast we all headed over to Marc and Tracie's.

This is the crabapple tree Marc rescued from the dumpster a year ago.  Looking great!

The Oergel resort is open and ready for action.

Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better - Millie the Moose showed up!

Too soon it was time to drive back home.  Good-bye to the Oergel's.  The drive home was beautiful, filled with lots of spring flowers.  Thanks for the great day! 

Took Ol' Yeller out for a drive

Before we left home a House Finch stopped by for a snack.  Such a pretty bird.

As we climbed the hill I spotted a new bird!  Maybe a Rough Winged Swallow....

 And this may or not be his house.

Ol' Yeller made the steep climb without a sputter.

The view was spectacular.

Finally arrived at the Microwave tower and giant metal sign. Still no idea what "the bigger than a Drive-In theater movie screen" was used for. It is a bit dilapidated.

Back at home our view just gets better and better.

Something funny - years ago we bought a few of these homemade garage buckets containing miscellaneous  screws.  I just noticed the address on the bucket.  Memphis 3, Tennessee.  That's an address used a very, very long time ago.  Probably from the 40's.  Yep, that's an 80 year old recycled wood preservative can.

Bruce's cedar planters are coming along.  Actually our drive was to scout for cedar tree stumps.  Found a few, another trip.  The area is being logged so traveling on a Sunday is a must, don't want to "run into" a logging truck!
