Home again!

Saturday afternoon we headed back home to Ellensburg.  With a stop for lunch at Zip's in Ritzville and a windy ride home it took almost 4 hours.
Everything is greening up.
These horses are enjoying the green grass of spring.
Gorgeous!
The Columbia River Gorge
Almost home now..
Looking back at the bridge.  Great trip!

Gia Celebrates 7 Years!

Gia's birthday is April 30th but since we were all together in one place we decided to have a surprise party for her on Saturday morning.  All the kids were downstairs playing when they were individually called upstairs.  I saw a little worry in their faces as they reached the top of the staircase... last called was Gia.
When Gia hit the floor everyone started singing Happy Birthday!
Gia is such a clown - she cupped her ear to hear the song again!
Everyone was so excited - they had kept a secret!

Gia blew out her candles and Tracy cut the yummy lemon filled cake.
Tracy and Wes enjoyed the low keyed party.
Gia enjoyed her presents
Gia read every card.
All I could see were heads.
Gia enjoyed Elle's secret.
Baylor and Marcus looked like brothers!
Five kids in this picture!
Gia loved her new gardening hat!
A new Barbie and a bow and arrow.
Miss Giavanna is ready for spring!  Happy Birthday Gia, you are one in a million!!

Marcus Charles Oergel ~ First Communion and Confirmation

Flashback to May 11, 2008 - Our family gathered in Colbert to celebrate the baptism of Marcus.
The Oergel family in 2008.  Olivia and Emma were just about 2 years old and Marcus was only five months old.  What a sweet family!
Flash-forward - April 22, 2016 ~ Our family gathers again to celebrate - Marcus Charles as he receives his first communion and is confirmed at St. Joseph Parish in Colbert.  What a special evening.
Marcus age 8 with his Mom and Dad.  Look how tall he is getting!
Bishop Thomas Daly celebrated mass.
Marcus's Grandfather Jerry Traxinger was his sponsor.

Looks like the Bishop is giving Grandpa a knowing smile.
This brought back so many memories for me.  I have always loved the celebration of the mass.
So many memories.  Love how happy Marcus looks here.

Group picture with Bishop Thomas Daly.
The Fan Club!  The cousins were all so proud of Marcus and his accomplishments.
Checking out St. Francis of Assisi - Patron Saint of Nature and Animals.
Tracy, Marc and Kimmie reminisced about their own Catholic experiences.
Marc and his twins.
These girls are Daddy's girls for sure.
Kimmie with her children - they were getting a bit goofy by this time.
We are so blessed that our grandchildren each have two sets of loving grandparents.  I love sharing Marcus, Emma and Olivia with Jerry and Linda!  After the mass we were all invited to supper in the parish hall.
Gia fixed herself a plate.
Baylor enjoyed his meal.
Our group was so large they put three tables together.
Pretty decorations.
Cousins Emma and Sophie - so much to talk about!
Beautiful Ceci next to her namesake St. Therese.  Not too sure how the bunny ears appeared.....
The church gardens were lovely.
Can't imagine how that got such a fabulous flowering basket so early in the season.
The Cousins - Marcus, Baylor, Elle, Emma, Olivia, Sophie, Gia and Ceci.  I couldn't ask for a better picture.
Time to go back to the house.  I just really liked the colors in this picture and Baylor looked darn cute too.
Fabulous sunset with some lightening in the distance.
Poppi, Grami and Marcus - we are so proud to be his grandparents.
The kids watched for lightening after Marcus set his balloon free.
A quick group picture - Lily is one of the kids!
Tracy brought some refreshment - wine in a box with a straw?
Yummy!  Should of known, never buy a box of wine from a gas station!!
Marcus enjoyed  opening some gifts.
We found him a book about First Communion and a Wildlife Uno game.
Can't believe how quickly Marcus is growing and changing.  What a nice young boy to spend time with.  Thanks Marc, Tracie, Olivia and Emma for sharing him with all of us!
