Gia turns 11

Giavanna Leigh Roemer today is your special day!
Immediately after the present opening Gia grabbed her Momma for a hug.
Gia loved the new wooden box Poppi made for her.  She looks just like her Mom in this picture.
The big sisters loved checking out Gia's new dart board.
Since Gia was eleven she got to light her own candles.
Happy Birthday Gia!!

Visitors working

This beautiful bird may be a Nuthatch.  Love how he checked out our empty cooler.
The Roemer girls showed up to lend a hand with some much needed gardening yesterday. Sophie even brought her own lawn mower.
Ceci got busy dipping the piles of leaves from the pond.
One down, 50 to go!
Yep, my Sophie is now wearing cowgirl boots!
Strawberries are doing great but they sure need some TLC.
Sophie and Ceci got right to work.
Gia chose to plant the potatoes. The pot was filled with grass.  Gia used the potatoes that sat under the sink all winter for seeds.  Should be interesting.
Bruce did some vacuuming of leaves. Never can understand where the oak leaves come from.
Last winter we filled this planter with dirt and I added "free" Starbuck's coffee grounds.  Look at the grass growing!  I know we were going to plant squash in this pot but the potatoes were ready for the ground.
Gia got a little help from Ceci.

The after photo - Gia did amazing!

The Strawberry after photo.  Nice job girls.
 My plants are looking great.
So glad to have perennial plants in the pots that come back every spring

Sophie, Ceci and Gia worked really hard and it sure does show. To top the day off Tracy and Wes made a delicious dinner and Marc and Tracie, Marcus, Olivia and Emma came over too. Great day to be in Bonners Ferry.

Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is OPEN

So we got home and are following the rules.  No contact for 14 days.  We've ordered our groceries from Super1 and they bring them out in a cart for us to load.  And we've driven down to the refuge without opening our doors.  On the way I spotted the Bald Eagle working on her nest.
A Beaver working on his dam.
The giant Blue Heron just standing around.
And Mr. and Mrs. Bald Eagle watching the river for fish.  So glad we can take a drive.

Home sweet home

The girls greeted us this morning!
Where have you been?
White tail wave goodbye.
Spring has sprung.  Rhubarb is growing.
Pretty plants in the garden.  Love these Lungwort perennials.
Oops, forgot some potatoes under the sink.
More of the Lungwort.
Volunteer pansy's.

And Bleeding Heart.  It is good to be home.
